Practical examinations of UP Board 12th will start from 3 February. The exam will be conducted in two phases from 3 February to 12 February and 13 February to 22 February. UP Board Secretary Divya Kant Shukla informed that in the first phase practical examination will be conducted in Agra, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Lucknow, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Faizabad, Azamgarh, Devipatan and Basti divisions. In the second phase, practicals will be held in Aligarh, Meerut, Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi and Gorakhpur divisions.
He said that the exams would be strictly under the surveillance of CCTV cameras and the principals of the examination centers would be needed to save the recordings. Practical project work for high school students will be done through internal assessment. This year more than 5.6 million students will appear in the UP board exam, for which will be announced later.
There has been no significant change in the number of examinees. In 2020, around 5.61 million students registered for the exam conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Medium Education Council. But this year 31,000 fewer candidates appeared in the high school examination, while 23,000 more appeared in the intermediate examination.
In the high school, 29,94,312 students have registered, of which 16,74,022 are male and 13,20,290 are female. UP Board Secretary Divyakant Shukla said that this number is less than 31,000 examinees. He said that 26,09,501 candidates have applied in the 12th, out of which 14,73,771 are male and 11,35,730 are female. Put together, a total of 56,03,813 candidates have registered to appear for the HS and Inter exams, 23,000 more than last year.
In the year 2020, about 5.61 million students were registered to appear in the UP Board High School and Intermediate examinations. 2.586 million students were registered for intermediate exams and 3.025 million for high school exams. Last year, high school exams were held in 12 days while intermediate exams were completed in 15 days.
