ASP becomes precedent in Manipur: Accused of drugs acquitted for lack of evidence, ASP returned the award and said – did not meet expectations

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thanaojam Brinda of Manipur returned the Chief Minister’s Bravery Award. In fact, due to lack of sufficient evidence in the 2018 drugs case, the court on Thursday bailed 7 accused. It was only after this that Brinda took this step.

Brinda was awarded the medal on 13 August 2018 for his outstanding work in investigating drug related cases in border areas. She said that she could not live up to the expectations, so she does not consider herself worthy of this honor.
He has written a letter to the Chief Minister, in his letter to Chief Minister N Biren Singh, he has given the court order as the reason. The court acquitted all the accused, considering the investigation in the case unsatisfactory. The former BJP ADC chairman and 6 others were accused in the case.
