Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday expressed confidence that the air travel will reach the pre-Kovid-19 position by the end of this year or early next year.
Addressing the online Deccan Dialogue organized by the Indian School of Business (ISB), Puri said that we opened the civil aviation sector on 25 May and 30,000 people were traveling in a day. Just before Diwali, two and a half million people traveled by air. We have already opened 70 per cent capacity. Now colleagues have been asked to do it 80 percent. He said that I am sure that by the end of this year, December 31 or before the new year or the second week we will be back in pre-Kovid status. However, to get here it is necessary that the existing security protocols be strengthened further.
